This is a truly magical place with a beach that allows an elderly person to go into the water and walk out again. It is an amazing place for snorkeling and for playing in the surf. The views on the drive to Cape Vidal are wonderful. We had a wonderful day on the beach as a family. Just remember to pack your own refreshments.
For nature lovers, great. Snorkeling limited and low tide reliant. No real amenities so stock must be preplanned.
The nature reserve is truly beautiful. Opportunities are available for snorkeling at the beach or enjoying a ride through the reserve. During our ride, we encountered several impressive animals. Cape Vidal consistently offers delightful surprises. However, the cleanliness of the restroom facilities could benefit from some attention.
Absolutely love Cape Vidal. Fantastic swimming area, clean beaches. However the road heading to the moan beach needs some work
The first time I was here, my uncle brought me here camping when I was a teenager. I had just started diving and was eager to get my own gear. He bought me my first fins here in St Lucia, a pair of Mares Avanti Quattro Power fins, and later we went to a big dive shop in Johannesburg to get the rest of my equipment, can't remember which. That first pair of fins felt like a real milestone. I’ve always loved the hippos of Saint Lucia. The Wetland Park is breathtaking. They say this is one of the best places to do your skipper’s license, especially when the ocean is a bit rough. It gives you proper, hands-on experience in more turbulent conditions, which I think is far more practical than just learning theory. I’d rather face real challenges with an instructor guiding me than only read about them. I’m not sure which company to go with yet, but I’d definitely like to do my skippers here one day. Definitely a bucket list item.
